Shining Revelry (A2b)
The meta has shifted, and while everyone’s too busy trying to one-shot everything in sight, there’s a sleeper deck out there that’s quietly climbing: Skarmory + Magnezone. This low-maintenance, energy-efficient deck is perfect for players who like to keep things simple, yet brutally effective. And the best part? Every Pokémon in the deck only gives up one point. Let’s get into why this deck is secretly goated.
If you want a deck that’s easy to pilot, slaps early, and doesn’t fold like a paper hat when a meta deck breathes in its direction—this is the one. It’s a classic budget-friendly skeleton that uses older packs, meaning veteran players likely already have most of the pieces. While newer players might have to dig a bit, the payoff is a deck that can absolutely bully the ladder with minimal effort.
It might not have the flash of Charizard or the raw chaos of Gyarados, but what it does have is consistency, tempo, and strong early pressure.
Early Game:
Get a Skarmory in the active spot and start swinging. You want to be applying pressure immediately with 50 damage. While you’re chipping away, get a Magnemite on the bench and start your evolution chain. You don’t need a full bench—just your key pieces.
Mid Game:
When necessary, start evolving into Magnezone. If the opportunity arises and you're lucky with draws, slot a Heatran into the mix as a secondary threat. However, if Heatran is not your jam, cards like Iono or Red can offer consistency and disruption to your opponent’s tempo. Equip Helmet to Skarmory for survivability and Cape to Magnezone to avoid KO trades.
Late Game:
Clean up with Skarmory or Heatran while Magnezone keeps your energy flowing. If you’re running into trouble, rely on your low point-value setup to force your opponent to waste time chasing down KOs. Control the pace, deny points, and ride your tool-equipped attackers to victory.
This deck has room for experimentation. Here are some swaps to consider:
You can also experiment with running both variants of Magnemite if you want to hedge your bets, but I don't recommend it honestly.
Skarmory + Magnezone might look like a simple deck on the surface, and that's because it is. With the right tech choices, it can pressure the meta’s top decks and outpace greedier prize strategies.
If you love decks that swing fast, deny points, and force your opponents to play awkwardly, this is the one for you. Just remember to find your tools early, and you’ll be breaking metas with metal in no time.
Deck Status:
🏅 Tier 2 — Proven Performer
✅ Strengths: Tempo, point denial, simplicity
⚠️ Weaknesses: Reliant on tools, bricking potential
