Shining Revelry (A2b)
Charizard is back—and it’s not here to make friends. This deck revolves around blowing your opponent off the board in one gigantic, game-ending swing. Fueled by Moltres and anchored by the unstoppable Genetic Apex Charizard, this build is pure Fire-type destruction wrapped in a deceptively simple game plan.
Let’s get into it.
Because you like winning. This deck is for players who don’t care about subtlety or drawn-out control matches. If you're here to explode all over your opponent and annihilate prize cards in one hit, Charizard is your guy. The game plan is so straightforward a Growlithe could run it, and when it works? You feel like an absolute beast.
Early Game:
Start with Moltres in the active, Charmander on the bench. Your opening turns are all about finding the pieces—Charmeleon, Charizard, and enough Fire Energy. Get those early flips from Moltres to stack energy while your opponent’s still trying to remember what day it is.
Mid Game:
Once Charizard is online, you're looking for five energy attached—any less is risky. If Moltres is still standing, make the pivot, swing for knockout, and get 2 points. You should have another attacker on bench just in case they clap back.
Late Game:
This is where the deck lives or dies. If Charizard is KO’d, can you follow up with a second Charizard? Maybe a Dawn-powered surprise Moltres swing? If you played it right, your opponent shouldn't have the time or setup to stop the firestorm.
Some players swap Giant Cape for X Speed or Dawn, depending on matchup preferences. Others include both Genetic Apex Charizard and the new Shining Revelry Charizard, adapting their strategy in real-time.
This dual-Charizard strategy is risky on ladder due to inconsistent draws, but it can thrive in best-of-three tournament formats. Personally, we recommend max consistency—run only the Genetic Apex version if you’re climbing or grinding.
Charizard EX isn’t deep. It isn’t subtle. It’s a dragon made of pure rage and fire, and it plays exactly like that. You’ll either steamroll your opponent or get humbled by a terrible hand and a streak of Moltres coin flips that make you question reality.
If you crave chaos, explosive wins, and the kind of damage that makes your opponent check if their deck is still legal, then Charizard EX is the one.
🔥 Tier 3 — Explosive & Climbing
✅ Strengths: Instant pressure, massive knockouts, energy acceleration
⚠️ Weaknesses: Coin flip reliance, prone to bricking, weak to bench targeting
